Several teams compete in a race against time through the Arizona desert. Their job is to reach the mine in the mountains, extract as much gold as possible and, after 20 days, return back to the base camp unscathed. The teams are forced to be as productive as possible. Scarce resources and limited time force participants to make efficient decisions, communicate well among themselves and set up an effective organization that allows their many different tasks to flow smoothly. The pressure, a deliberate component of the role play, can be compared to situations experienced in hectic everyday life. |
